1976 was a time of renewal in America.
The Bicentennial, the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States, was celebrated in 1976, and boy was it noticeable. The 4th of July was one great big national party, with massive parades, colonial costumes, fireworks, and a general celebration of patriotism. Later that year, Jimmy Carter entered office, the scandals of Nixon/Ford began to fade, and people looked forward to what they hoped would be a bright future for the country.
Check out some folks celebrating their nation, chilling out and just feeling the good vibes that were around then.
