The Golden Age of vacationing in America started with Hawaii.
The Aloha State first joined the U.S. in 1959, and with that came a wave of tourists, hotels, and a ton of great vintage vacation photographs. The country was taken with Hawaiian aesthetic and their way of life, and it quickly became a favorite destination to fly to throughout the 1960s.
