I've been getting into graphic design lately and it's really made me appreciate the power of a well-designed visual aid to make complex information more easily digestible.
The art of creating infographics
is a great way to teach people about stuff they'd otherwise forget. For instance, I can definitely explain to you that an extended dry spell will result in thinner ring formations in a tree, while seasons with higher-than-average rainfall will produce a thicker ring since the tree had more resources to grow freely. That makes sense enough, but actually seeing it illustrated as it is below makes it stay in your mind MUCH more effectively.
