Why do people insist on lying about things that are so easy to debunk?

Sure, maybe before everyone and their mother (literally) had access to Google at all given times, you could post some outlandish s**t like this and have people believe it. But nowadays, it's just so easy to instantly call out someone's BS, and we're glad there are people willing to do exactly that.
