Life is pretty crazy, and unfortunately, there is no real user guide that'll get you through it. The best you can do is listen to advice when it's given to you, especially if it's someone who's lived longer than you have. Even if it's not the best and you end up not actually using it, it never hurts to listen and store it away for a rainy day.
