SS Ayrfield Homebush Bay, Australia -Homebush Bay is home to the remnants of a ship-breaking yard no longer in operation. Among the wrecks left behind is the SS Ayrfield, a 1,140-ton steam collier used as a transport ship during World War I. Now, it is home to a small floating forest.

Murmansk Sorvaer, Norway - Following the fall of the USSR, this 1955 cruiser was sold for scrap to India in 1994 but ran into difficulties off the Norwegian village of Sorvaer. This relic of the past was removed in 2013 following fears that it contained nuclear material.

Most believe the ship to be Khanka, a Soviet spy ship lost some time before 1982, although the Russian Government refuse to confirm the speculation. Frigate 356 Cayman Islands - Frigate 356 was a Soviet ship which served during the Cold War. In the 90s, the ship was scuttled. Being made from cheap aluminium, it has decayed quickly and looks like it has been at the bottom for hundreds of years.

Mars Baltic Sea - Mars. a Swedish warship, was the largest of its time. Despite the fact that it sank during a bloody battle over 500 years ago, in 1564, this is one of the most well preserved wrecks in the world.

The Sweepstakes Lake Huron - Sweepstakes was a 119-foot Canadian schooner which was damaged at sea in 1885. Although it reached the shallow waters of the harbor, the leaks couldn't be fixed and it sank where it stood. Chuuk Lagoon Micronesia - Chuuk Lagoon was Japans main naval base during the Second World War. In 1944, the harbor came under attack from American forces, and 44 Japanese ships and 249 aircraft were sent to the bottom.

Lady Elizabeth Whale Bone Cove, Falkland Islands - A huge iron barque of 1,155 tons launched in 1879, the Lady Elizabeth broke away from port during a storm and drifted to where she lays today, still largely intact it acts as a magnificent view into the past.

S.S. Thistlegorm Red Sea, Egypt - S.S. Thistlegorm was a British merchant ship sunk by the enemy in 1941. At the time of her sinking, Thistlegorm was carrying trucks heading for the North African front, they are still in her hold to this day.
