The landlord-tenant relationship is one of those magical archetypes that seem just structurally designed to be contentious. Sure, you might have a great relationship with your landlord, but like in-laws and neighbors seem overwhelmingly likely to accompany drama of some sort.
Don't get me wrong, there are good landlords out there who do their best to do right by their tenants. But there are these landlords, who seem to be masters of passive (and active) aggression and couldn't give a single, solitary thought about that whole "acting like a human" thing.
