Whichita, Kansas. The history of Pizza Hut began in 1958 when Frank and Dan Carney opened the first store in Wichita Kansas. Frank and Dan were brothers and best friends. In 1958, they asked their mother to borrow 600.00 and they successfully started the now world-renowned restaurant called Pizza Hut. -

Wichita, Kansas. The original location was the NW corner of First and Main. Cook Walt A. Anderson partnered with insurance man Edgar Waldo "Billy" A. Ingram to make White Castle into a chain of restaurants and market White Castle. -

Hapeville, Georgia. The chicken chain's origin can be traced to the Dwarf Grill, a restaurant opened by S. Truet Cathy, the chain's current Chairman and CEO, in 1946. The Dwarf Grill was making more chicken sales than anything so they decided to change the name to Chick-Fil-A. -

Columbus, Ohio - Wendy's was founded by Dave Thomas in 1969 and was named after Dave's second daughter, Melinda Lou Thomas, then 8 years old, whom her older siblings nicknamed "Wendy" -

Downey, California. Founded by Glen Bell who first opened a hot dog stand called Bells Drive-In in San Bernardino, California in 1946 when he was 23 years old. Bell sold El Tacos to his partner and built the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. -

Quincy, Massachusetts. Founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg. Since its founding, the company has grown to become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world, with 15,000 restaurants in 37 different countries. -

Corbin, Kentucky. Harland Sanders an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant during the Great Depression founded KFC. -

New Orleans, Lousiana. Popeyes Mighty Good Fried Chicken was first opened in Arabi, Lousiana, a suburb of New Orleans on June 12, 1972 as "Chicken on the Run", owned by Ale Copeland. -

Monrovia, California. Brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald came up with the idea for a barbecue spot, they named 'The Airdrome,' and originally set up shop near the airport in Monrovia, California in 1937. -

Shawnee, Oklahoma. Following World War II, Sonic founder Troy N. Smith Sr. returned to his hometown of Seminole, OK, where he became employed as a milkman. He decided to work delivering bread because bread was not as heavy as milk. Soon afterwards, Smith purchased the Cottage Cafe, a little diner in Shawnee, Oklahoma. -

Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1969 Fred Deluca borrowed $1,000 from friend Peter Buck to start "Pete's Super Submarines" and in the following year they formed Doctor's Associates Inc to oversee operations of the restaurants as the franchise expanded. -

Jacksonville, Florida. Two friends, James McLamore and David Edgerton in 1954, created the popular burger joint.
