I never cease to be amazed by the lengths some landlords will go just to screw over their tenants and completely neglect all of their responsibilities as a property owner. You don't just buy a house and then start cashing out - being a landlord means you've got to make sure the house is up to local codes at all times, the property is clean, free of pests and other health hazards, and generally being courteous and responsive to reasonable requests by your tenants. It's a lot of work!
