The Two Headed Man in 1901. This false image is well done, and deceived most people when it was made. It is actually pretty simple, as the man had his picture taken at 2 separate angles. The picture was cut up and combined during development, and the false image was created.

A German soldier pounds the heads of a French, British and Russian soldier for this 1914 postcard. It is done using multiple pictures with the smaller being cut and put together on a Gelatin Silver Print. This is a great example of early photoshop.

Five women stare at each other in England, 1905. This one is also a simple trick, as it uses mirrors. Notice the line in the middle of the picture, that's the angle of the 2 mirrors. Also look at the umbrella as it is in every shot. Today Photoshop makes us all a skeptic, but over 100 years ago, these simple tricks fooled a lot of people.

The Ghost Man in the US in 1905. This one is believed to be done on accident, as the picture was just developed wrong with exposure, creating this extra white on the mans face and clothes. The process would be copied for future tricks.

A young girl poses for the camera as the faces of her 3 sisters appear like ghosts in NYC, US in 1895. This is a very simple trick, as the 3 people we barely can see are reflected from a large clear piece of glass from the photographers perspective, giving off the illusion of a ghost. Early films in particular used this trick a lot.

This one is pretty simple once revealed, as its just depth perception by the camera. This was an often used trick as it is quite simple and because of this is still used to this day.
