This has occurred because Mastercard and Visa had stopped processing payments to Pornhub. The credit card companies took action on accusations that Pornhub had allowed child abuse videos or involuntary sex.

Pornhub had a total of some 13.5 million videos on Sunday night, according to its own search bar. That number has now fallen to 4.7 million: around 8.8 million videos have been removed.
