See the Groups That Reddit Just Permanently Banned (25 Pics)
Starting today, Reddit removed about 2,000 subreddits for violating their new policies aimed to stop hate speech and harassment on the site. This is the largest single banning Reddit has ever conducted.
While most of the banned subreddits were small ones you've probably never heard of, a number of them were high profile communities with really active user bases.
These include meme-based subreddits like "DarkHumorAndMemes," "DarkJokeCentral," and "Wojak," as well as ones based around the podcasts Chapo Trap House and Cum Town.
"The Donald," a subreddit where Trump fans shared bizarre conspiracy theories, and the respectively women's rights and men's rights groups "GenderCritical" and "ConsumeProduct" were all also banned.
In case you're wondering what went on in these communities to get them entirely removed from Reddit, here's some recent screenshots from the higher profile ones.
Some stuff was straight up too racist to include, but a lot of it was just pure nonsense. Hopefully this offers some kind of idea of what kind of stuff is and is not tolerated on Reddit anymore.

"The Donald" was the most well-known of the banned subreddits. While there was probably a lot of offensive stuff there, it was mostly wacky conspiracy theories like this. -

They were still doing PizzaGate over there, so not the most up to date users. -

Trump's probably not happy about the ban, or the fact that he got banned from Twitch the same day. -

Reddit probably had problems with this group's race-based trolling. -

Although their idea of the anti-christ is pretty laughable. -

Cum Town's ban was also big news. -

There was a lot of male nudity on that subreddit. -

But mostly bad jokes about pop culture references. -

As well as old people complaining about Gen-Z humor. -

They knew they were on the way out anway. -

Dark Humor and Memes had the most active user base of all the banned subreddits, and its posts were by far the most edge lord offensive. -

Lots of jokes about beating women. -

And trolling Black Lives Matter. -

Consume Products was like 4Chan for incels who don't know what 4Chan is. -

This community seemed to be the most sincerely bummed on being banned. -

They seemed to have been kicked for racist jokes like this one. -

But they also had maybe the best sense of humor about themselves. -

Supposedly they created a Telegram group to keep in touch. -

The Wojak subreddit toed the line a little too closely when it comes to things like race and sex. -

Prime example of a Wojak joke that Reddit probably didn't like. -

The last group, Gender Critical, consisted of people who felt personally attacked by the existence of transgender people. -

They loved posting stories about cis women to gain sympathy. -

But their doctrine has a warped understanding of gender and sexuality. No one's sad to see these idiots go.
