Orlando Andrés Jiménez from Peru is fighting for his life in hospital after he was bitten on the neck by what is believed to be a Chilean recluse spider. -

A species of arachnid known to be one of the deadliest in the world – it contains venom which causes necrosis of the skin. Orlando was in his college bathroom in Punta de Bombón when the attack took place. The spider fell from the ceiling and shot deadly venom inside him, within 30 minutes he became ill. The 31-year-old suffered kidney failure and may lose his eyelids and left ear. -
