Chinese developers, Greenland Group, may have an £800 million budget for the building, but clearly the design needed a little more thought. Spire London, as the 67-storey building will be called, will house 765 luxury apartments with infinity pools, gyms, cinemas, and cocktail bars, and is scheduled to open in 2020.

New names already being suggested for the building include the Towering Innuendo, the Crystal Phallus, and even just The Penis, to join the Walkie Talkie and the Gherkin, London’s other iconic skyscrapers. And the best part is that it’s really close to London City Airport, so people arriving by plane will have a charmingly phallic image to greet them as they come in to land.Hilarious.
