South Dakota was pummeled by an early blizzard, leaving many residents without power and heat for three days. Up to 43 inches of snow in some places.

Three feet of snow blankets Main Street of Sturgis, South Dakota. Just two months ago, this street was lined with motorcycles from all over the country, there for the world famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. -

When the power is out, residents resorted to the old "redneck refrigerator" to keep food and drinks from spoiling. -

Broken branches were a major problem in this storm. -

Rapid City residents still keep their sense of humor. One might suspect this venture was alcohol fueled. -
