• Ok, I assumed you were just mistaken - now I see you are too dumb to do basic arithmetic. So r4 = 438 does it? Let's do the sum. We start on 85 secs (r1=100, r2=95, r3=90, r4=85...). The first shot takes 2 secs, scoring 83, the next 2 secs scoring 81. The sequence is 83, 81, 79, 77, 75, 73. Now get your calculator out 401, and add those numbers up. Yes, the total is 468. You can join the rest of the children now. 2 secs a round gives a total of 3942 (try again when you have mastered the tricky art of addition)!

• *sorry, typo there should have said "a high score of 3735 would not be beyond belief" - typing fail, maths still stands :)

• Just to correct your shockingly poor maths skills, 2 seconds a shot would give a total of 3942 (round 1 shots scoring 98 96 94 92 90 88 = 558 r2 = 528, r3=498, r4=468, r5=438, r6=408, r7=378, r8=348, & r9=318). 3 secs a shot gives a total of 3753 (r1 97 94 91 88 85 82 = 537... etc). Since even I have managed to get higher than 537 in r1, I would have to assume that 3 secs a shot is attainable, therefore a high score of 5735 would not be beyond belief. Your scoring assumption is that all the balls will be potted at the minimum time value, which incorrectly skews you assumed max scores. Try re-doing the maths and turning down the cynicism a notch or two!

• Indeed thaddeus - micro can and has been proved. Macro simply has a mountain of evidence behind it - the thing is after 150 years of trying, no-one has come up with any theory that fits the evidence as well!
