A Woman Yawned So Hard That She Broke Her Neck
Add it to the list of “things to be afraid of.”

A mother of two claims that, after seeing her baby yawn, she yawned herself — breaking her neck in the process.
According to a woman named Hayley Black, she says that, upon seeing her then-newborn baby yawn, she started to yawn and stretch out, causing an “immediate electric shock sensation” to go through part of her body. Soon, she realized something was seriously wrong, and an ambulance was called.
While doctors weren’t immediately able to find anything wrong with her, further testing revealed that, per Black, “the C6 and C7 [vertebrae] had shot forwards into my spine when I yawned [due to] the force of the yawn.”
She had emergency surgery and, thankfully, was able to make a full recovery.
That said, she says she still has a fair bit of PTSD about the whole experience.
“I can't yawn without panic, and any yawn I try to stifle,” she said. “It still affects me to this day.”
I believe it!
