An Influencer Donated His Shoes to Charity, Then Tracked Them Down to a Thrift Store in Bosnia
Your “charity” is helping some kid in Sarajevo get a fit off.

If you’ve ever seen one of those charity clothing donation bins in your city, you may have wondered where that clothing actually goes. Sure, the box *says* it goes to help people in need, but, technically, everyone needs clothes. Who’s to say these places aren’t just selling your used clothing onwards?
It turns out, that may be exactly what they’re doing. One German influencer decided to hide an AirTag in a pair of shoes, then drop it off in a local donation bin. He was able to trace the AirTag from Germany to Austria, Slovenia and Croatia before it, and the shoes, landed in Bosnia, where they were being sold at a thrift store. To complete the circle, he traveled to Bosnia and bought them back for around $12 USD.
“I wonder how it is possible that we are throwing shoes in a Red Cross donation box in Germany, and they are now being sold almost 800 kilometers away, without mentioning to the employees or anyone else that it is a donation to the Red Cross,” the influencer says at the end of his video.
It’s a good question!
