Given just how silly our politics have become, it’s easy to forget that governments around the world are filled with people who are *also* ridiculous. To be clear, that doesn’t mean they’re dumb or ineffective legislators; they’re just a bit different from the prim-and-proper stereotype the politicians over here have.

Nowhere is that more true than Australia. Case in point: This self-proclaimed “blue-collar Bogan bloke with a mullet” rang in his election by doing a “shoey,” aka drinking a beer out of a shoe. Now, he’s retiring — and so, he did it again on the floor of Parliament.
