Australia’s First Rocket Launch Ended With the Rocket Crashing After 14 Seconds
Maybe they didn’t account for it being upside down.

We have a lot of fun at the expense of Aussies. It’s for good reason — they live in a place where half of the wildlife will kill you, and all you get in exchange is a sunburn and the world’s dumbest accent.
Still, we shouldn’t be *too* hard on them. After all, they *are* good at some things. However, rocket making is apparently not one of them.
Earlier this week, Gilmour Space Technologies attempted to launch its orbital rocket, called Eris, from a spaceport in north Queensland. What instead happened was that the rocket went up a little bit, hovered, then fell straight back to the ground.
The company is still looking on the bright side, though, writing in a statement that “Today, Eris became the first Australian made orbital launch vehicle to lift off from Australian soil.”
You can say that, but give a hooner enough time with a Holden Commodore and I’m sure he’ll find a way to send that baby into space in no time!
