With the rise of Instagram and TikTok has come a parallel growth in young people spending more money on vacations. I’m not saying these two things are necessarily connected — hell, it probably has more to do with every other major life achievement, like owning a home, being too damn expensive — but it’s certainly interesting.

One of the reasons this growth has been entertaining to watch is that travel destinations are being promoted to people who really might not be able to handle them. As a result, influencers flock to far-off lands in search of the perfect photos, only to have their bags stolen at the airport and their homestay destroyed by a monkey.

For example, these people were on a boat in Bali when it, as boats sometimes do, began to sink. You’re never going to believe this, but they didn’t handle it well!
