If someone in a vehicle needs to be stopped, police will occasionally employ road spikes. These are exactly what they sound like: Spikes that are placed in the road in order to pop a vehicle’s tires and make the driver or passengers of the vehicle able to be apprehended by cops.

Unfortunately, the success of this method relies heavily on cops being able to time their throw correctly. Often, they don’t, leading to awkward moments like these:
