Cardi B Apologizes for Asking Fans to Buy Her Album After Learning How High Rent Prices Are
It’s a little difficult to justify a $40 vinyl when you’ve gotta pay $2,500 in rent.

Cardi B recently dropped her second album and, to promote it, pulled out a few viral stunts — mostly centered around getting people to actually buy it.
Now, she’s beginning to regret that. Not because the album flopped (it was certified Platinum on the first day of its release), but because she didn’t realize how much of a financial hardship it is to ask people to buy records in this day and age.
“I didn't realize how quickly they raised the rent prices. And I'm out here asking y'all to buy my album,” she said during a recent Instagram Live stream. “I'm so sorry, y'all.”
Cardi went on to say that seeing today’s rent prices made her feel “disgusted,” adding that it should be easier in this country to pay rent — not only so you can buy more Cardi B albums, but so you can do other fun things like, I don’t know, raise children.
“They need to make it a little bit easier to get welfare, to get a little something, to get a little help,” she says, “because how the [expletive] are you [expletives] surviving?”
I don’t know, Cardi. I don’t know.
Cardi B apologized for asking fans to buy her album in this economy: "I didn't realize how quickly they raised the rent prices. And I'm out here asking y'all to buy my album and shit. I'm so sorry, y'all ... when I was looking at those rent prices, I was so fucking disgusted." pic.twitter.com/m4yxTG9YqI
