Aura-Farming Bystander Uses Scene of Charlie Kirk’s Death to Promote Himself
We need a refresh.

After Charlie Kirk was shot and killed yesterday in front of thousands of his fans, one man turned the camera on himself and used the chaos to plug his social media channels. The man, who goes by Elder TikTok, started filming himself in the immediate moments after Kirk was shot.
The video, which he has since deleted and replaced with an apology video where he says his actions were “insensitive,” quickly spread on X. I can only describe the clip as “aura-farming,” or rather, a man using a terrible tragedy to further his own brand. But what’s most awful is that throughout the clip, Elder TikTok literally spams the viewer with a barrage of “keywords.”
The video starts with him on the ground taking cover, before he stands up and says, “It’s your boy, Elder TikTok, there was just a gunshot at Charlie Kirk.” He then shoos away two young people who I assume are with him, saying, “Hey, let’s go. Hey, let’s go,” before pausing, lifting up the camera, sticking out his tongue, striking a pose, smiling, throwing a peace sign and repeating the phrase, “It’s your boy, Elder TikTok.”
For the next 30 seconds, he stands around as everyone else runs for cover, repeating the phrases, “This is not a drill,” “There’s been gunfire in Utah,” “Charlie Kirk,” “Elder TikTok,” as if what he just experienced was some sort of Italian brainrot meme, while lifting up the camera and posing in front of the tent Kirk was sitting underneath.
He ends the video with a plea for his viewers to “go to church” and “read your Bibles,” before reminding them to “make sure you subscribe to Elder TikTok on Instagram” and throwing up another peace sign as people run for cover behind him with horror across their faces.
Again, Elder TikTok did apologize for the video; however, in the comments of his apology video, there’s a picture of him taking a hat from the unmanned Turning Point USA merch table.
this is, start to finish, the most Conner O'Malley video I have ever seen. pic.twitter.com/iGU0KdQnCR
