ChatGPT Is Getting Into Shopping
They promised us AGI, but instead, we got integrated Etsy checkouts.

No one doubts that eventually A.I. will be used to do things humans can’t. However, we aren’t there yet, and given the products the world’s top A.I. companies are shipping, we won’t be there for a long time.
For example, OpenAI announced yesterday that ChatGPT users will be able to “instantly check out” when shopping in ChatGPT. In a partnership with Stripe, the online payment provider, you can both buy your groceries and build an unhealthy relationship with your chatbot, all from the comfort of your couch.
While A.I. has been billed as the savior of humanity and compared to the next great technological revolution, so far, the consumer-facing products these tech giants have on offer are just slop video feeds, necklaces for loners and expensive “click now to buy” buttons.
