For how much college costs in this country, you’d expect the whole thing to be a pretty luxurious experience. However, as anyone who’s lived in a dorm can tell you, that’s not really the case. Typically, you’re paying several times more than the local rent to live in a small room with one or two more people, while sharing a bathroom with about 30 other people. I don’t know what “real world” college is preparing you for, but I don’t want to live in it!

Plus, in severe weather events, even the most expensive dorms are just as prone to disaster as anywhere else. For example, the video below, which shows students realizing that their dorm is flooding right as it happens.
