Sir? Aren’t you forgetting something?

Ever since 2021, a lot of essential functions have moved online. After years of being told “No, we have to do this in person,” people realized that you actually *don’t* have to be face-to-face to sign a form — and so, many things that were once in-person essentials can now be performed with ease over a Zoom call.

That said, it doesn’t always work out for the people involved. For example, a recent court case came to a brief halt after an officer showed up via Zoom without pants on.

In the incredible clip, the officer can be seen swearing in while wearing his uniform — well, the top half of it. Looking down, one can see that the man was, in fact, pantless.

“You got some pants on, officer?” the judge asked.

“No, sir,” responded Officer Matthew Jackson of the Detroit Police Department. He then moved his camera closer to himself to disguise his lack of pants. Credit to the judge, he made no further mention of it and the trial proceeded as normal.

The Detroit Police say they’re investigating the incident and plan to discuss proper attire with their officers. Shouldn’t be too hard of a discussion — just remind them that their job requires them to wear pants!
