Drone Shows Keep Getting Ruined by Hackers
Turns out, you can just jam the things.

Many cities and municipalities have pivoted away from fireworks shows and toward “drone performances,” where drones with bright lights on them display cool graphics in the sky.
The good thing about these shows is that drones are reusable, and there isn’t as much noise or air pollution. The bad thing is that someone can just jam the drones.
Recently, videos have been coming out showing what appears to be a skyful of drones malfunctioning, with many falling down onto the Earth and sea below. While some say that this is just the drones malfunctioning en masse, others claim that these drones are being jammed, either accidentally or intentionally.
Jamming a drone isn’t easy, but it’s certainly not impossible, and a prankster with enough gumption could do it.
My suspicion? It’s the all too powerful firework lobby!
