What does a seal sound like? You probably have no idea. If you had to guess, I’d imagine you’d probably go for something like a guttural grunt — effectively, something between Jabba the Hutt and Chewbacca.

While you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong, the world of seal sounds is a lot wider than you’d expect. Seals make all sorts of weird squeaks and burps, and today, we thought we’d compile some of the many strange sounds that come out of seals’ fat, shiny bodies.
