A viral TikTok video showed a strange gelatinous blob, rocking in a large container with an overlay caption that said, "What Doritos really look like before it's pressed and baked into a Dorito." The creator of the video is then seen slapping the large blob. In a response video that went viral recently, user @dadoritodude, who works for Frito-Lays, explains exactly what the main ingredient is in Doritos, which is masa.

In his video, @dadoritodude explains what masa is and the process of making Doritos, “It’s kind of like Play-Doh, really, but it gets crushed in two rollers and then just cut into the shape you guys usually know. Then it gets baked and then fried and all kinds of stuff to make the regular Dorito."

The TikToker who posted the original video claimed that he was a former Frito-Lays employee and that his video was accurate, but @dadoritodude responded by saying, "Whatever that was, it just ain't true."

@dadoritodude's video reached over five million views with one commenter stating, "It’s funny the people who make these ‘exposed’ videos act as if someone is lovingly handcrafting each item like it’s their mother cooking it.”

Another user questioned why people lie about ingredients in our food saying, "Never get why so many people feel the need to lie about the food industry there’s a lot of shady activity sure, but not everyone is feeding us garbage.”

@dadoritodude responded with, "To be honest, we do everything very meticulously to make the perfect healthy product, every time."

It's interesting when people go out of their way to spread misinformation. It's almost like they get some sort of sick satisfaction from pretending they're right. Or they do it for views, likes, and comments in hopes that people will pay attention to them.
