45% of Men Aged 18-25 Have Never Asked a Woman Out
It’s not going to be okay.

According to Scott Galloway’s new book, Notes on Being a Man, being a young man has never been a lonelier experience than it is today. Much has been said and written about the “sex recession” many Gen Zers are going through and few voices have worked as hard as Galloway to rightfully deflect the blame away from young people and put it where it belongs, on a world that only cares about stealing their attention.
In conversation with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Galloway talks about the findings of his new book and they aren’t something to be laughed at. Galloway claims that 45% of men aged 18-25 have never asked a woman out on a date. The reason for this isn’t because men aren’t interested in women (surely some aren’t), but to him, the cause of men becoming more isolated from their peers, specifically women, has everything to do with the world they inhabit.
Without factoring in AI, which is a whole other can of worms, Galloway claims that the world’s “ten top companies,” known as the Magnificent Ten, are in the “business of enragement, polarization and sequestering young people from all other activities.”
And frankly, he’s right. Social media hasn’t lived up to its promise of making the world a more connected place and in fact, has done the opposite. All studies show that people are more polarized today than ever before. People are spending less time with their friends, less time with family, young men aren’t going to college, they aren’t moving out of their parent’s homes; in short, they’re doing nothing.
And that includes, sadly, talking to women.
@cnn Scott Galloway addresses the male loneliness crisis in his new book, "Notes on Being a Man." In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Galloway explains how big tech companies and AI are nurturing "asocial, asexual males."
