The Louvre robbers might not be the biological children of Ocean’s 11 star George Clooney, but judging by the look on his face when asked a question about them over the weekend, he considers them spiritually his children.
On the red carpet of AFI Fest, Clooney was talking to a reporter about the possibility of an Ocean’s 14. Clooney confirmed there is a finished script for the film and that production is set to begin next year.
But it didn’t take long for the reporter to bring up the now-infamous Louvre robbers. At the time of the interview, no arrests had been made; however, two people have since been arrested in connection with the heist.
Clooney, whose eyes lit up like fireworks at their mention, said he thought the heist was “cool” before calling it “terrible.” He joked that for a professional thief like himself, he couldn’t help but be “proud of those guys.”
George Clooney says the "Ocean's Fourteen" script is done and jokes that the franchise now has to live up to the Louvre heist.
