What are the chances?

English golfer Tommy Fleetwood was playing a round this past weekend at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland when he got a little bit of help from an unlikely friend: a fly. Fleetwood, who was playing in the BMW Championship, can thank the insect for helping him earn a $1,450,000 bonus, as he currently sits fifth in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Fleetwood started the day seven-under par, and he was able to get to eight-under thanks to the fly. Now, it’s hard to say if the fly really caused the ball to drop, or if it was a gust of wind, as a common housefly only weighs 12 milligrams, and this fly was the size of a gnat, but I’m sure Fleetwood doesn’t care either way.

The crazy thing is, Fleetwood is only the second luckiest golfer on tour, because did you see that 80-yard Scottie Scheffler pitch shot? That was unreal and didn’t require the help of a bug.
