Beach towns — especially of the international variety — really play it fast and loose with safety regulations. Renting a jet ski in the U.S. requires you to sign a variety of forms insisting that the company isn’t liable if you somehow rip your own head off using their machine. Abroad? Just pay your $30 and ride, baby!

However, maybe those safety regulations are for the best. At the very least, it can prevent situations like these:
