We take it as a given that most animals make noise, but how do they do it? Unlike us humans, a lot of animals don’t have vocal cords, and yet, they still make noise. How?
In the case of the humble Beluga Whale, it makes its noises through its blowhole by controlling the air coming out of its air sac. Here’s what that sounds like, and yes, it’s stranger than you’d think:
