It was a weekend of big waves in Hawaii, as Maui's south shore experienced record setting swells.

On Saturday, Emergency Services closed roads south of the Kona airport as waves crept into usually dry beaches and camping areas. On Sunday, the swells were estimated to be between 18-24 feet with 15-20 foot waves projected for Monday.
It is unclear if there were any serious injuries as of yet, as most footage shows beach goers and dinners fleeing from knee deep waters. One of the more shocking videos appears to show the Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club completely covered in the break.
What is called a Code Red 2 swell first passed through the Southern Pacific and this weekend made its assault on Hawaii, bringing perfect waves and some annoyance for people on vacation.
Unreal footage of waves crashing OVER the Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet club. Details on what happened there, tonight on our KITV news at 5 and 10pm. @kitv4
