It’s Not Just You: The iPhone Really Is Adding Random Letters To Your Texts

I knew it!

If you’ve updated to Apple’s new “Liquid Glass” iOS, you’ve probably encountered some issues. First, things are hard to see. Second, some things just don’t work. Third, it really seems like typing has stopped working. That’s the thing I care about most with my phone, but I guess I’m alone in that!

If you, too, have been thinking that typing doesn’t appear to be working as it used to, you’re correct. People across the internet have documented instances of themselves typing a letter, having the keyboard register the correct letter, then putting a different letter on the screen.

One video of the problem, posted by YouTuber Michi NekoMichi, currently has over 337,000 views. In his video, he shows that repeatedly typing the phrase “thumbs up” results in a typo almost every time, even though his keyboard presses are correct.

I guess we’ll just have to hope that Apple figures it out soon — but given how they’ve been recently, I’m sure the next update will keep this same bug while making your Google Maps clear for some reason.
