Jerry Jones Says He Didn’t Mean to Flip Off Fans, Wanted to Give Them a ‘Thumbs Up’ Instead

Sure, and I wanted to tell my ex to “Go *love* herself.”

Jerry Jones is in hot water. That’s because the Dallas Cowboys owner was seen giving New York Jets fans the middle finger following his team's win on Sunday, netting him a $250,000 fine from the NFL.

But to hear Jones tell it, that’s not what happened.

According to him, he had intended to throw a thumbs-up their direction but, in the heat of the moment, got his fingers messed up.

If this is true, it’s pretty insane — both because that doesn’t generally happen to people who are adults and fully conscious, but because in the video of the event, you can see him realize that it’s probably wrong to show the crowd his middle finger, then decide to switch finger *to his pointer finger.*

This means that if he, as he claims, truly meant to raise a thumbs-up, he screwed up doing so *twice.*

Naturally, this is also more than likely a lie and he’s just trying to cover his behind after making a mistake. But, c’mon, whom amongst us hasn’t wanted to flip a Jets fan the finger at least once?
