Kash Patel Says the FBI Is Investigating the ‘Hand Signals’ Given Near Charlie Kirk Moments Before His Death

Kash Patel said the FBI is investigating all leads in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, no matter how outlandish they may be.

Patel, who posted a long update on X yesterday in an attempt to calm the public’s worry that he hasn’t been doing enough to solve Kirk’s murder, said the FBI is “meticulously investigating [all] theories and questions.”

Those “theories and questions” include a number of rumors and conspiracy theories that went viral in the days following Kirk’s death. In Patel’s own words, the FBI is looking into “the location from where the shot was taken, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the shot and bullet impact, how the weapon was transported and hand gestures observed as potential ‘signals’ near Charlie at the time of his assassination.”

Patel also gave credence to unfounded theories that Kirk’s assassination was conducted by a professional, referencing X theories that claimed a private jet had taken off closely after the shooting and then “turned off its transponder,” as if to conceal its getaway.

But what stands out the most is his claim that the FBI is looking into “hand gestures observed as potential ‘signals’ near Charlie.” The theory here is that Kirk’s own security detail was setting him up, and the hand signals Patel refers to, are (by online conspiracy theorists) assumed to be the “call signs” they used to tell the shooter when to take the shot.

These “theories,” however, can all be proven false from the comfort of your own computer. In fairness, I guess if the FBI wants to be “thorough and exhaustive,” they have to turn over every stone. It’s not like they already have the guy in custody… Oh wait.
