C’mon, if you want us to care about you, you’ve gotta look cooler than that.

The Kiwi is a flightless bird native to New Zealand. It has a fat body, a long beak and tiny, useless wings, making it a pretty adorable (if a bit pathetic) specimen to look at.

While this little critter might be a bit sad on its own, where things get *really* miserable is when they try to fight. Simply put, they just aren’t that good at it, and if you’re ever lucky enough to see one of their 1v1s IRL, you’ll quickly realize why the New Zealand government has to go out of their way to conserve them (they sure as shit can’t save themselves!).
