Klarna’s CEO Did a ‘Not Like Us’ Parody Rap at a Conference

You thought the era of "embarrassing CEO raps” was behind us? You thought wrong!

There was a time in the ‘90s to the mid-aughts where the funniest thing an old white dude could do was rap. This resulted in a lot of cringy clips in which everyone from managers to CEOs would get up onstage and do a version of “Ice Ice Baby,” but about company synergy.

You might think that time is now behind us, but if this year has taught us anything, it’s that our dead rivals will always come back to haunt us. Case in point: the recent “Smoooth Week” held by Stockholm, Sweden-based fintech company Klarna.

To kick off the events of the week, Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski opened the annual conference with a lip-sync performance of a Klarna-themed remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Lines from the remix include “What’s up with all these old banks tryna’ keep Stockholm” and “Finna max out this quarter we in Stockholm.”

Look, I didn’t say it was *creative.*

Anyway, Klarna’s losses were over $100 million in the first quarter of 2025. Time to spend less time rapping and more time doing business!
