Some people have low voices, some people have high voices. While you can work to change yours, doing so requires a fair amount of effort — and there’s no guarantee that the people who remember your old voice will quit mocking you for it.

That’s why it’s best to make peace with the voice you have. Otherwise, you could end up completely losing your shit once somebody points it out, which appears to be what happened here:
