There are some world records that are fun. There are others that are impressive. Then, there’s a final group that fall distinctly into the “this is a gross thing we couldn’t stop this person from doing” camp.

This guy is part of the latter. A Vietnamese man named Luu Cong Huyen recently showed off his fingernails for Guinness World Records. In total, his fingernails are 594.45 centimeters long, or about 19 feet, 6 inches. Huyen says it took him three decades to do, which is time he could have spent reading, talking to friends or doing literally anything else.

What’s life like with such long nails? It’s miserable, obviously. The nails get dirty easily, and you can’t clean them with water as, according to Huyen, it runs the risk of softening the nail and causing them to break.
