At a recent Malicious Monster Truck Tour stop in Bremerton, Washington, on July 20th, a monster truck tire broke off its axle and went soaring out of the arena and into the parking lot. Video footage of the incident has since gone viral, and it’s pretty damn awesome.
People go to monster truck rallies for one reason and one reason only, to see something dangerous. And what’s more dangerous than watching a 645-pound tire go bouncing through a parking lot?
Bill Payne, the operator of the event, told the Kitsap Sun that “there were no injuries,” but that a Kia was destroyed by the rogue-tire. If you look at the course, you’ll notice none of the jumps are facing the crowd, which is a safety measure that seeks to minimize incidents like this.
Thankfully, the only casualty was a Kia.
