Mormon Women Are Buying Their New Church-Approved Underwear Off the Black Market
Did you say, “Church-approved underwear”?

The Mormon God has spoken, and he thinks it’s okay if women wear “off-the-shoulder” undergarments to church. I’m not mocking the Mormons here — clearly they are hungry for change, judging by the massive lines of women eagerly waiting to get their hands on their new and improved “holy underwear.”
Last fall, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints quietly announced that it had redesigned its “temple garments,” the underclothes worn by believers while in church. There was just one catch: the garments were initially only available to women in hot and humid climates such as Africa and Asia. The church has since backtracked that rule, releasing the garments to its 17 million members around the world.
In May, The New York Times reported that the redesigned garment quickly became a must-have for many Mormon women, and now, according to the ex-Mormon TikToker Alyssa Grenfell, the garment has become so popular that women are waiting in three-hour-long lines to secure them.
That is, if they aren’t buying them off a budding black market.
@alyssadgrenfell The demand shows they wanted it all along but had to wait for permission to get it #exmormon#lds#utah#ldsgarments#garmentgirly♬ original sound - Alyssa Grenfell
