Despite what most people think, space is not in fact silent. NASA recently shared audio of what a blackhole sounds like, and while the sound is inaudible to the human ear, registering 57 octaves below middle C. NASA took the audio and scaled it up so that the human ear could hear it, and the sounds are unique.

NASA said on their Twitter account, "the misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound."

Many people online had something to say about the audio, mostly that it was creepy or that it sounded like a million souls burning in the endless expanse of space, but most did agree that the sounds were incredible nonetheless. So check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think.
