NYC Construction Company under Fire after Equipment Falls and Nearly Kills Woman in the Bronx

A Bronx woman narrowly escaped death when part of a construction vehicle fell and landed on her car while she was in the driver's seat.

Lehman College student, Danielle Cruz was driving to class when she stopped at a red light. That's when a part of a boom truck fell down and smashed into the roof of her car. According to the initial investigation, the truck was lifting rebar at a nearby construction site.

The construction company has been given a stop work order. Not only due to the accident, but they also had multiple safety violations on site.

As for Danielle, she was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. But it's safe to say things could've been much worse. According to first responders, if she had been moved her car even a few inches forward, she may have not survived.

The equipment broke her windshield and pushed the roof of the car down on top of her. She stated that her back, neck, and head all hurt. And that hopefully the construction company is held accountable.
