Paul Pierce — who’s long been haunted by the viral rumor that he once sharted himself during a playoff game and faked an injury so he could be wheeled off court to hide the evidence — has some dating advice for all of us that I’d advise anyone listening to please ignore.

According to Pierce, the only real way to know if your partner is actually in love with you is to cheat on them. Yup. Cheating on your partner, the person you supposedly love most in the world, is the quickest way to find out if they love you back.

Pierce thinks that if you test your partner this way and they remain devoted to you, it’s not because they’re weak or don’t have other options; it’s because they love you more than anyone else.

“Babe, I know I cheated on you, but I did it to see if you really loved me!”

Yeah, that doesn’t sound crazy at all.
