People Are Getting Really Sick of Being Asked to Tip at Self-Checkout
Who is this money going to?!

It’s fair to say that tipping culture in the U.S. has gotten pretty out of hand. Not only will basically every business ask you for a tip now, but the actual amounts that they expect you to tip have gone up, too. What do you *mean* your options are 20, 30 and 40 percent?
Still, most of us make the bargain in our head that, though we don’t like tipping everywhere, we’ll reluctantly contribute to help pay workers a little bit more.
This logic goes out the window when it comes to self-checkout. Recently, there’s been a major influx of videos of people going to a self-checkout machine, only to be prompted for a tip. Where does that tip go? Who knows! Hey, in a just world, it would go back to you, as you’re the one doing the work, but in this world, it’s just a mystery.
What do you think? Would you tip at a self-checkout?
Is this tipping culture this bad in any other places or is it just america? pic.twitter.com/AjDWZyTEiD

@1alyssavp We have to end “tipping culture!” This is out of control. I’m at LAX, at a self-service kiosk with NO employees. #RangMyselfUp#NoTipForMe#Tips#TippingCulture#STOP#Absurd♬ original sound - Alyssa
