Protesters in L.A. Are Destroying Self-Driving Cars and Electric Scooters
That’s one way to get them to stop honking.

Los Angeles is currently experiencing a massive wave of protests, largely in response to recent (and violent) efforts from immigration enforcement. While most of these protests have been peaceful, police have also been caught inciting violence, and protesters have, in turn, participated in some violence of their own.
Much of this violence has taken the form of attacks on property. For example, people were allegedly calling Waymo cars to the areas of the protests, then destroying them, which spurred the company to halt its services.
Why the attacks on Waymo? Could it be that the LAPD has been provably using the cameras on Waymo vehicles for surveillance? Or is it just because it’s really fun to destroy a car?
